THE CHALLENGE
Shark was launching the Beauty SpeedStyle Pro and needed to show what it could do. For Sydney’s beauty-savvy crowd, the proof would be in the styling. We needed to get the tool out of its box, into expert hands and onto people’s shopping lists.
THE IDEA
An empty shop. A very good hair day waiting to happen. We took over a vacant retail space in Sydney’s CBD and transformed it into the Shark Beauty SpeedStyle Salon. For four weeks, our custom-built salon and showroom gave people a place to try the tool, see the results and shop their new styling essential.
HOW PEOPLE ENGAGED
Visitors took a seat for complimentary styling, with hair experts Chris Hunter of Willomina and Jaye Edwards of EdwardsAndCo demonstrating the SpeedStyle Pro in action. Personalised advice helped them understand how to recreate the look on their own hair, while exclusive in-salon offers gave them a reason to make it theirs.
WHAT IT BUILT
Four weeks of turning product curiosity into hands-on experience. An empty shop became a working salon, a product demonstration and a place to buy. Visitors left with freshly styled hair and the know-how to do it again at home.
