THE CHALLENGE
Two new flavours. Thousands of hungry uni students. Pizza Pockets needed to make an entrance at O-Week, turning a quick microwave snack into something worth lining up for.
THE IDEA
Ready in 90 seconds. Reckon you can beat that? We created Pocket Pong, a custom shuffleboard game that gave students 90 seconds to slide Pizza Pockets into microwave targets. Same time as heating one up. Considerably more competitive.
We even gave the snack its own larger-than-life personality: Pocket Man, a custom-designed mascot built to bring the brand’s cheeky spirit to the party.
HOW PEOPLE ENGAGED
We toured four university O-Weeks across Sydney and Melbourne, feeding hungry students and fuelling friendly rivalries. They played for prizes, tasted the new flavours and grabbed a photo with Pocket Man. #pocketlikeitshot took the fun onto social, while mobile coupons gave them a 2-for-1 reason to pick up their next Pizza Pockets at Woolworths.
WHAT IT BUILT
5,800 Pizza Pockets served. 1,800 games played. 2,000 coupon sign-ups, with a 9% redemption rate.
